People/Corporations who don't get my money anymore (edited for accuracy)

  • Roman Polanski (fugitive from justice - alleged child rapist)

  • Woody Allen (sexual relationship with a young woman to whom he stood in the place of a father his son's sister)
    )

  • Orson Scott Card (donates to anti-LGBT causes - SOB, I love his books)

  • Nestle (even after over 30 years of protest and boycotts - still promoting formula over breast-feeding in developing nations which contributes to poverty, malnutrition, and child mortality)

  1. Nitpick Alert: I'm not a fan of Woody Allen's views supporting Polanski etc, so I'm boycotting him for other reasons, but he never stood in the position of father to Soon-Li Previn - he and Mia Farrow never cohabited even when their son was born and he never co-parented her other children or held himself out to anybody as their step-father - he was just their mother's boyfriend who visited every now and then.

    Soon-Li's adoptive father Andre Previn remained actively involved in co-parenting her even after he and Farrow separated. Beginning an affair with your girlfriend's adult daughter is still a caddish act, but he wasn't breaking any in loco parentis bonds of trust, he was just(!) being an adulterous arsehole.

  2. I was not aware of Orson Scott Card's unfortunate views. I find it very surprising that such an amazing thinker can come to such a disdainful conclusion. I am new to this blogging deal, but I can't find a place to directly email you. Please check out my blog at epatriotica. We have a lot in common. Namely Jeff Barnett.
