When he goes over to the dark side, he really goes over to the dark side. How can the same guy who endorsed Stevens endorse Delgaudio?
Needless to say, this year I'm certainly not on team York.
Because I'm on team Nevarez, team Wexton, team Ronis, and team Keirce.
I'm on team "best person for the job", and anyone who thinks that Delgaudio or Plowman or Buona or Williams is the best person? Well that guy can't be such a great person himself.
Sorry, Scott. You lost me.

Fundraiser for Shawn Mitchell
I hope you all can join Tom Greeson and the Dulles Area Democrats for this reception benefitting Shawn Mitchell.
Shawn's running in the 13th state Senate District and we all know that Republican Dick Black is trying to get the Republican nomination to oppose Shawn. We need to come together and work to ensure Shawn is well-funded for what might be a very interesting and closely targeted race.
Here's the facebook invitation again!

Why am I on Howie Lind's fundraising list?
Does that strike any of you as being a failure of targeting? Frank Wolf sends me fundraising requests too. Is it because I've sent Frank Wolf email in the past?
Dear Howie Lind and Frank Wolf:
I will never give you any money. Go away, and may you lose your next election.
Sincerely,
Liz Miller

York, Chapman, Nevarez win nominating contests
I'm delighted Al Nevarez won the caucus! I can't wait for him to beat Delgaudio in November!
I've updated the campaign websites page to reflect the new reality.

Cuccinelli is endorsing Steve Stockman in the race for the LCRC nomination for Chair
I wonder how this will affect the Convention on Saturday? If York loses, will he take the Delgaudio bumper sticker off his car?

Looking at Cliff Keirce's campaign finance report
Not bad for a first-timer! The really noteworthy thing is that all but one of his donations come from within Loudoun.
I'm gonna get on his back about needing to raise more (especially since I want a bumper sticker - so much so that I may buy those myself).
But frankly, I'm glad he's canvassing and getting the word out. He's a terrific planning commissioner and he'll make a great Supervisor.

Andrea DOES have a website
You can find it here. Apparently, it was worth $5000 in an in-kind donation (fully a third of what she raised this past quarter).
But, as I said in a comment below, it doesn't show up on the first three pages of a google search. No matter how specific.
Does it count as having a web-presence if people who are actively looking for your page can't find you?

What do these websites all have in common? LAST UPDATE!!
[They are all updated now!]
Tag Greason
Kevin Kuesters
Larry Roeder
Chris Souther
Scott York
They are all missing the "paid for" or "authorized by" notice required by Virginia law.
First-timers Larry Roeder, Chris Souther, and Kevin Kuesters at least have an excuse. But Scott York and Tag Greason? Come on guys!
They are all missing the "paid for" or "authorized by" notice required by Virginia law.
"Radio, TV and print media communications must include disclaimers displayed conspicuously. Print media includes billboards, newspaper and magazine ads, mailings, fliers, email and websites. Printed pieces consisting of more than one page need bear the disclaimer only on one page or face. VA. CODE ANN. § 24.2-955.1 (defining “print media”).
Print media: “Paid for by [name of entity].” If the advertisement supports or opposes the nomination or election of a clearly identified candidate, it must also state either, “Authorized by [name of candidate], candidate for [name of office] or “Not authorized by a candidate.” VA. This is an open call to all candidates, Democratic, Republican, Independent, Whatever.
This especially goes for School Board, HOD, and State Senate. Thank you!

What does it say
...about Andrea McGimsey's desire for re-election that Denise Moore Pierce, who has been running for all of a weekend, has a website, and Andrea - who announced back in January - does not?

Information from my Inbox
At the LCDC meeting last night, according to my sources:
- Josh Actor withdrew from the Commissioner of the Revenue race
- Andrea McGimsey's campaign manager introduced himself and said her website is live. I still can't find it. If anyone has a link to it, pass it on.
- Bahri Aliriza is still in the Sterling race. My money is still (literally) on Al Nevarez to win the nomination and, eventually, the general.

Oh! What Kelly Burk just did!
She just moved that the BOS add a grievance procedure for aides.
Debate happening now.
Update: It failed. It seems McGimsey votedagainst for it. [shrug]

A look at Valdis Ronis's opponent
Remember when I did that resolution for Loudoun Times Mirror? Well Ralph Buona did one too. His is the unfortunate still-frame that YouTube used.
Uh...yeah. Ralph Buona's creepy eyes? Yet another reason, if you needed one, to vote for Valdis Ronis.

Now THAT's what I'm talking about
Cliff knocked 151 doors yesterday.
Jennifer Wexton's been out every day (though she needs to post about it more!)
Shanyn Ronis is wearing her shoes out.
I'm so proud of my canvassing proteges! Keep it up!

Origin story
Back in 2009, I got into a competition with Stevens's campaign staff. Whoever knocked more doors than me would be eligible to win a Nintendo DS donated by my mom.
I started blogging the number of doors I did each day. And I started tweeting while canvassing. At the time, I blogged and tweeted as Mystery Mommy (a mommy who reads a lot of mysteries). Shaun Daniels, The World's Best Campaign Manager, suggested I take a different name: one that was more campaign oriented.
Thus, the brag of one particular day became a title I try to earn everytime I go out canvassing. "Mrs. Smug Campaigner, Queen of the Doorbells"
I dare you to out-canvass me.

Stats
Went walking with Cliff Keirce today knocking on the doors of single family homes here in the Oak Grove precinct. Did 81 doors, got 30 signatures, and a promise of a house party. All in less than 3.5 hours. That's about 23 doors an hour.
We need to pick up the speed a bit, but they were all good contacts. I can't wait to do townhomes with him!!
I did double duty today, handing out Wexton for Commonwealth's Attorney lit at the same time.
It was a lovely day for canvassing, but then, what day isn't?

Campaign websites
As a public service, I have a page that will have links to the campaign websites of every declared candidate for local office.
Supervisors and Constitutional Offices are there now, School Board coming tonight or tomorrow. State offices will be added soon.
I will be posting later on the asthetics (or lack there of) of the various sites.
