The only mention I'll make on this blog about it

"For what do we live, but to make sport for our neighbors and laugh at them in our turn?"

- Jane Austen (Mr. Bennett in Pride and Prejudice).

It's a jingle, it's bad, and he put it on his website. However, it's early it the cycle and, as mistakes go, this one's at least amusing.

  1. You know, even though this one is musically not my cup of tea, if someone offered me the donation of a jingle, I don't see how I could say "no." I mean, how many of us, candidates or not, ever get a little song composed on our behalf? It's a very flattering idea. And, once delivered, how do you tell the friend who gave it to you that, uh, "Gee, it's not bad, but... well... I think we'll use it later."

It's not exactly out of the textbook from Campaigns 101, but aren't we always saying that we're looking for something new? Even if we aren't, you can't really fault a guy for being proud of his friends and the fact that they support him.

  2. That's what campaign managers and spouses are for, to deliver the bad news to well-meaning friends.

  3. Oh. Well, okay.

But, if that is why The Edge did not perform at our rally with Tim Kaine, you and I need to have a talk...
