Of those numbers, $7,500 of MC Dean's contributions are going to BOS races. $18,000 of Bill Dean's contributions are going to BOS races. That's $25,500.
The BOS recipients are:
Buona ($5,000 + $500)

Delgaudio ($2,500 this year)
Letourneau ($2,500 + $3,000)
Volpe ($5,500)

What are they hoping to get for their money?

[UPDATE #1: James Brabham, an executive at MC Dean, donated $500 each to Buona, Clarke, Letourneau, and Volpe. (Norman) Douglas Cumins, another executive at MC Dean gave $250 each to Buona, Clarke, and Volpe.
So, their totals from MC Dean etal this year are:
Buona ($5,000 + $500 + $500 + $250) = $6250
Clarke ($5,000 + $500 + $500 + $250) = $6250
Delgaudio ($2,500 this year)
Letourneau ($2,500 + $3,000 + $500) = $6000
Volpe ($5,500 + $500 + $250) = $6250
Which brings the total for BOS candidates alone to $27,250. VPAP doesn't have searches by employer, so all I've got to go on is donations from people I know are employed by MC Dean. If you know of others, please let me know and I'll add them.]
Don't forget about the $2,500 to Dick Black.

Liz, you are missing the contributions by Lansdowne Development Group which owns the restrictive easements and leases them to OPEN BAND. It is the easements that are preventing competition and Hobie Mitchell at LDG is profiting from this too. Also, I think you missed several of the other executives who gave money at the party held for the Republican Candidates.

ReplyDeleteYes, I'm focusing on OpenBand's owners and executives. They have the most to gain from a friendly majority on the Board.
ReplyDeleteI don't want to be too harsh, but those who have posted about Chairman York - here are the facts, Lansdowne Development corp is not affiliated with OpenBand or their parent company, nor dos LDC have an open application before the BoS. IMHO: Your concern is pretty misguided and un-informed.
ReplyDeleteTo focus only on Mcdean and open band is misguided. Openband clearly indicated that in the series of llc's they created in partnerships with the developers, as was specifically listed in the interview with Dusty at ashburn patch, own the easements and these easements charge a fee for this arrangement. This makes the association with Van Metre and Lansdowne Development Corp relevent. Go to the interview and read it. It is MCDean and openband's attorney saying this...not Anon. Everyone seems to be missing the point here and until they get it, MCDean and open and will succeed. Expect a lawsuit against the county no matter what happens...because they can't win here. If not MC Dean, the HOA's will sue the county. Either way, the BOS candidates, all of them who took money from these organizations, not just open and have broken their promise to the public the are sworn to represent.

The article you mentioned says that LDC received donations and links to the vpap site listing the donations. It seems that if what it says there is true, LDC does have a money interest in some of these LLC's. They have made several donations this year.

ReplyDeleteI'm sorry, Lansdowne Development Group may, indeed, be part of the OpenBand family of companies, but if so, they're certainly not donating in as wide-spread and generous a fashion as their siblings. They are donating a bit to the chair and more to Janet Clarke (though why not Buona who is in their district?).
Feel free to keep talking about it, but I'm not feeling that there is very is much there.
